Message from the President
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As you plan your trip to ARVO, I hope that you will be able to arrive in time to attend the 26th Annual IOSS meeting that will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Radisson Salt Lake City Downtown, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The meeting program will feature sessions in the morning and afternoon on a variety of clinical and basic ocular surface topics, including ample time for discussion and networking. The Keynote Speaker will give The Roger W. Beuerman Award Lecture. This year’s speaker will be Dr. James Jester, presenting, “Mechanisms Controlling Meibocyte Renewal and Differentiation and Their Impact on the Effects of Age and Stress”.
The afternoon mini-symposium has a theme of “Ocular Surface Side Effects of Cancer Immunotherapy” and has distinguished investigators presenting including: Dr. Philipp Steven, Dr. Sandeep Jain and Dr. Neel Pasricha.
I invite you to submit your abstract by April 15, 2025. directly to ruthiem@bcm.edu so the agenda can be finalized for the meeting. In order to keep things moving smoothly, this year we will not have speakers using their own computers to present their talks. Speakers will be notified to download the selected presentations into an IOSS Dropbox one week prior to the meeting. This meeting has always been about the opportunity to discuss your work with colleagues and we want to have as much time as possible to allow for that.
Our website is currently being updated and will be available soon with the logistics for the venue. I have attached registration and abstract submission forms for your use. Please use the PayPal registration block for payment of the membership and meeting registration.
The meeting will conclude with a cocktail reception. We hope you will join us this year for another exciting IOSS meeting!
Sincerely yours,
Michael E. Stern, Ph.D.
President, International Ocular Surface Society
