25o Moacyr Álvaro International Symposium

Anterior Segment in the Global Era

The Department of Ophthalmology of the Federal University of São Paulo/Paulista Medical School (UNIFESP/EPM) invites you for the next “Moacyr Álvaro International Symposium” (SIMAsp), which will be held in São Paulo, Brazil, from February 21st to 23rd, 2002.

This year’s meeting is called “Anterior Segment in the Global Era.” The idea is to discuss, in a globalized manner, various issues pertaining to the anterior segment of the eye, including Ocular Surface and Tear, Cornea and External Disease, Refractive Surgery, Cataract and Glaucoma. In order to achieve this goal, we are organizing minisymposia (Jointing meetings) combining the most important international societies on these subjects together with their respective Brazilian societies. The focus will be to bring to the audience, in a very practical format, the latest evidence-based concepts in each of these sub-specialties. To complement the discussions, simultaneous wet-labs on corneal transplant techniques, amniotic membrane transplantation, phacoemulsification and LASIK will be available in a 150m2 integrated space.

We are looking forward to having you in São Paulo in 2002.
